The term “5.0” derives software version nomenclature where the most major revisions are indicated by a whole number and decimal numbers represent incremental improvements. The first Industrial Revolution at the turn of the 19th century has been called Industry 1.0 and subsequent technological milestones were dubbed 2.0 (electrification), 3.0 (digitalization), and 4.0 (automation). None of the earlier technologies have gone away. Each new development transcended and included the one before it, beginning with 0.0 (manual labor).
